Villa Adriana

The previous republican village of the Sabines was converted by Adriano, since the year 125, into the center of imperial government. The maritime theater, the philosopher's house, the canopus, the thermal baths, the Antinoeion, the imperial palace and a multitude of representative spaces constitute the largest palatial complex of its time, which housed around 3000 people, just over 20 Km away of Rome.
